CUPP WILL BRING BACK DEMOCRACY – Kola Ologbodiyan

Leaders of 39 political parties and a faction of the ruling APC, R-APC(Reformed APC) gathered at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja yesterday to sign a memorandum of understanding to work together towards the defeat of President Buhari at the 2019 elections.

The meeting had in attendance heavyweights from different political parties including Buba Galadima, Chief Olu Falae, Atiku Abubakar, Ike Ekweremadu, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Godswill Akpabio and Kawu Baraje who thanked the PDP for taking the nPDP back.

Spokesman of the PDP Kola Ologbodiyan has hailed the coalition and urged the ruling APC to get ready to vacate power in 2019 having failed Nigerians.

Speaking on a radio programme in Abuja a while ago Mr Ologbodiyan posited “what we are working on is a coalition that will bring back democracy”. He also added that “the essence of the coalition is to bring forth a government of National Unity”.

When asked what the fate of the coalition will be with regards to filling candidates for other positions apart from the Presidential election, Mr Ologbodiyan responded that, “in all the elections, parties will sign a fresh agreement and modalities to be deployed in the various elections. What we signed yesterday was a memorandum of understanding”.

Ologbodiyan added that at the state level the coalition will most likely agree on which party will produce a candidate for a particular position and the other parties will support the candidate.

He added that the memorandum signed by the coalition in Abuja yesterday signals the end of the APC in power, “anybody who calls himself a politician and was not part of what happened at the Yar’adua centre yesterday is either living in oblivion or is no longer a politician”.
